The best family place in my opinion is the Si bar.
They really welcome children and do meal deals for them. Great outdoor space for them too and with all big sporting events showing it is a hit with my hubby too. Good food, nothing fancy, and reasonably priced.
Obviously not the best choice for an intimate dinner for two!
We chose Las Palmeras apartments at La Manga Club because the photos we saw of the pool and the apartment block looked very nice. We also did not want too many apartments so we hoped the pool area would not be too busy and it turned out to be a really good choice.
The apartments are in the middle of La Manga Club which is large if you have not been before, but we could walk everywhere. We did hire a car and it was useful to have when we went to the supermarket and back and forth to the airport but we could walk to lots of places to eat, the tennis courts and golf clubhouse.
The apartments are a good size inside and have two bathrooms and a good size terrace. The pool is within a stones throw of the apartment and we spent lovely days around it in the glorious sunshine. Highly recommended.
You have not mentioned the superb restaurant, Amapola, really first class.
Not cheap but the standard of the food is superb and service hard to beat. Give it a try for a special occasion.
We were delighted to revisit Canelas restaurant again this summer.
We always arrive and have a drink at the bar before we are seated in this wonderful rustic restaurant. The menu is varied and never disappoints and we are always sad to leave when our taxi arrives late into the evening.
Might be worth making a reservation if you have a special celebration you want to enjoy there.
I really did not want to stay in an apartment but when there are only the two of you the choice is usually a bit limited.
I found this one bedroom villa at La Manga Club and really liked the look of the area it was in. The area is called Los Molinos, which means the windmills, and there are a lot of larger villas plus the few which have just 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom and with a small kitchen and lounge they are perfect for a couple. The pool was lovely with a nice poolside snack bar and we could walk almost everywhere to all of the places in La Manga Club to eat.
We managed to get onto the super golf courses and were paired up with some other players who recommended some places to visit during our stay if we wanted to venture off of La Manga Club. We spent the day in the nearby port of Cartagena which is now very popular with the cruise ships. It was a 40 minute drive and a nice day out to sample a busy bustling Spanish city. Returning to our cute little villa was a pleasure and one we hope to repeat in the future.
I did not know really what a duplex was before I booked Hacienda del Golf but it is an apartment which is on two floors so it was fine. Only thing I would say is that we had one bedroom on each floor so if you have really small children you might not like them away from where you are sleeping. The apartment was very nicely kept and we liked the layout. I do not know how many apartments there are in Hacienda del Golf in all but I would imagine that in the main school holidays that the pool area would be busy as there is only one pool.
We were able to walk to the tennis centre within a few minutes where we had all booked into a course for five days. That was really good, great coaching and a lot of fun and we think we all improved our game.
We ate out all the time and found all the places we tried really good, not one bad meal. One of favourites was El Bistro which is in the Bellaluz square, the staff were very nice and friendly.
All in all a very nice holiday.
We chose from the description on the web a property in the La Colina block of apartments. I had not stayed there before and chose a 2 bedroom apartment with two bathrooms and we were very happy with the standard when we arrived to start our holiday. Discovered there are no more than about fifteen apartments and some have 3 bedrooms and are on two levels. The pool was lovely and more than big enough for all the residents to use. Generally the place was nice and peaceful and helped to make sure we had a really relaxing time. Great to see some new places to eat appearing and that everything was as clean as usual in all the public places.
Our friends suggested we go on holiday together and share a villa, first time we had thought about it but made good economic sense.
They had been to La Manga Club before and stayed in a Bellaluz apartment through La Manga Holidays. They found a four bedroom villa in the El Rancho community that they advertised which suited us perfectly and we had a really great holiday.
We would recommend El Rancho villas as they are in the lovely gardens and as there are lots of pools to share no villa is that far from a pool. The kids thoroughly enjoyed being together and we plan to arrange a trip next year. We will be in touch.

We had a good holiday this summer in the Monte Verde apartment I had chosen on the internet. The apartments at Monte Verde are really nice and we loved the indoor pool which we used for an early morning swim every day. The outdoor pool space was also good. The apartment itself was very spacious and the views from our terrace were really nice. We sat out in the evenings and watched the twinkly lights in the distance.
Although Monte Verde is on the outskirts of the La Manga Club we could walk to the Bellaluz square for our fresh bread and often went for coffee, lunch and an occasional dinner. We have not been to La Manga Club for a few years so very pleased to see our favourite restaurant is still there, El Bistro. Such a good menu and good value.
Hopefully we will return again.
The thought of staying in a penthouse apartment was very appealing and something different from our usual choice of holiday accommodation. We chose to go and try La Manga Club and a Monte Verde penthouse apartment as they looked spacious and with nice large terraces for eating and cooking outside. We have been to other resorts in the same area in Spain.
We were not disappointed when we arrived and the people who look after the property were very welcoming and pointed us in the right direction for shopping and eating out. We enjoyed walking around La Manga Club and have to say everywhere was very well maintained. We managed a round of golf which was a little expensive but very enjoyable.
Unfortunately I had to visit one of the pharmacies, I understand there are two, during my stay and must say how fantastic the staff were. They could not have been more helpful and spoke excellent English. I went to the one opposite the petrol station. I think it is very reassuring to know that such a good service is on site and available.
Thank you for a great holiday.
