We were not at all bothered about having to hire a car and accepted that we might have to drive to various places during our holiday. We wanted peace and quiet more than central convenience so we opted for the El Coto property with its private pool. The standard was very good indeed and the views out across the pool and garden were great.
We had to call the on site manager once during our stay for a minor issue with the TV and she was very receptive and helpful.
We particularly liked to eat in Canelas, which is deep inside the lemon trees, and you will need a car to get there.
We spent our holiday sharing with our close friends in a four bedroom El Rancho villa at La Manga Club. We have children of the same ages who get on well and to save a little on cost we decided to rent a larger villa rather than two small ones.
It worked really well as there was plenty of space and enough bathrooms that we could manage fine. The main dining area and seating inside was fine for breakfast and we did spend a lot of time using the outside dining area and terrace as we used the built in BBQ a lot. The supermarkets sell some great BBQ packs.
We lost the men to the golf courses on a couple of days and headed off on others to the local Mar Menor beach as its great for paddling and getting out the buckets and spades. Lots of places there to grab coffee or lunch. Most of the time we stayed around the pool that was the nearest to our villa although you can use any that are part of El Rancho.
We have rebooked again this year and secured our 5% discount, counting the days.
Nothing is high rise at La Manga Club and the Las Palmeras apartments are just two storeys and all on one level inside with good access and parking. We were delighted with our apartment and it was a good home from home for our weeks stay. The Las Palmeras pool area is just a minute away and is great for the amount of apartments there.
We could walk everywhere and we were only a 5 minute walk to the tennis centre and the communal swimming pool which anyone can use.
Our children were very keen to join in the tennis courses that run all the time so we enrolled them before we arrived as we were advised to do so by our agent. It is definitely worth prebooking otherwise it is possible they will be full in the popular school holiday weeks. They really enjoyed themselves, had fun, made lots of friends and had a good introduction to the game of tennis. The coaches were very professional and very used to dealing with boisterous youngsters.
We look forward to returning later this year and have selected Las Palmeras again for our stay.
We were recommended to stay in the Monte Verde apartments by friends who knew that we did not like being in the centre of things and preferred the quieter areas.
It was a good recommendation as the quality of the apartments are equal to Los Olivos but the community is generally quieter due to it being on the outskirts of La Manga Club. We had a three bedroom apartment which had two bathrooms and the views were fabulous from our generous terrace.
We also had the use of an indoor heated pool plus the outdoor one but that was a little chilly given the time of year and not really comfortable to use.
Despite being on the outskirts we could walk to our tennis lessons in ten plus minutes and the supermarket in Bellaluz square was also walkable so we hardly used the hire car. I suppose in general a car is useful if you stay at Monte Verde, just depends on how energetic you are.
We would like to return and next time plan to take part in the five day tennis course.
Last summer we booked a three bedroom villa at La Manga Club in the area they call El Rancho. I must be honest and say that I had not realised that the design can vary with these villas but when we arrived I was pleasantly surprised how it suited us down to the ground.
The main living area was as you would expect with kitchen and dining area, lounge with terrace off of it and it had two of the bedrooms downstairs. As you looked at the front of the villa there was a staircase at the side which lead up to a further terrace and door which was the sole entrance to the third bedroom and bathroom.
My sixteen year old daughter and friend were delighted to grab this bedroom so they could be independent and private away from the rest of us. It worked perfectly as they could come and go and they liked. Perfect also for those travelling with parents too I suppose as they could also have some privacy away from everyone. I really liked the villa generally as we were no more than two minutes from a swimming pool. The gardens also really nice and very well looked after.
We have re-booked again for this and are really looking forward to our return trip to La Manga Club and the El Rancho villa.
Having read so much about the Los Olivos properties at La Manga Club I was tempted to book one for a change and as it was a special birthday to treat myself to a top floor penthouse apartment.
I was really pleased when I arrived to discover that it was as spacious as described and the views fabulous, as promised. You get great views from all of the apartments but I did enjoy being on the top floor because we had two terraces, front and back, so you will get the sun all day long.
The tennis courts are just a stones throw away and you can walk to either of the supermarkets with ease.
Only negative I would say is that they are not suitable for those with young children. The stairs up to the apartment and the stairs inside to the second terrace would not be good to have to contend with. Definitely opt for a ground or middle floor if you have little ones.
We always enjoy our stay in the Los Olivos apartments mainly because we really love the location and the standard of the apartments themselves.
I like a break where I do not have to drive if at all possible and we can walk everywhere if we stay in Los Olivos. I arrange the odd taxi if we want to go off of the resort and the taxi company is a 5 minute walk away from the apartments so even that's convenient.
Both two and three bedroom apartments are very spacious and both have two bathrooms. The terraces are also large with built in BBQ's in all of them.
I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone and look forward to our next trip.
Have just spent a few weeks in the Spanish autumn sunshine which has no doubt set us up for the winter here.
We wanted to be in a good spot so we could walk to most places and the Golf Bungalows fitted the bill.
We were pleased to see that most of the restaurants and cafes remain open during the quieter months so we could eat out when we wanted but we also catered for ourselves as the supermarkets always remain open and are well stocked.
The beautiful blue skies and very pleasant temperatures make this resort a great getaway for some autumn sun. One of the benefits of staying in a Golf Bungalow are the fabulous views of the golf course which are right on your doorstep.
Consider this great resort at any time of the year when you next decide to go away, you won't be disappointed.
The windmills of Los Molinos give this community of white wash Spanish villas a very pretty appearance and they have a great home from home feel about them.
We have chosen to stay in Los Molinos on our last three trips and our children love the pool area and poolside snack bar. We would recommend you check the location of your villa if you have young or elderly in your family as some have steep steps to get to the villa. Of course these ones have the best views from there terraces and you should not dismiss them just bear it in mind if you have buggy etc to contend with.
We have just booked for next year and got our repeat client discount. Don't miss out!
Having been to La Manga Club many times I have tried the various accommodation available. There is something for everyone's budget at La Manga Club but like anything in this life you get what you pay for. I can only say that for me I would stretch my budget a little and stay in the Los Olivos apartments which in my opinion are in the best spot within La Manga Club and are just so spacious in all aspects. Outside of the main summer weeks I have found some bargains to be had for short breaks and good rates for a seven night stay.
I go regularly for tennis coaching, sometimes on my own and other times with a group of friends and we have now come to the conclusion that our preference will be Los Olivos. We like the location as it is directly opposite the tennis centre and you can see the courts from the lovely terraces that the Los Olivos apartments have. We also make very good use of the indoor heated pool. There are two other pools at Los OlIvos but like the majority of pools at La Manga Club they are not heated so the indoor heated pool and Jacuzzi are great to have.
We are able to walk to all of the facilities on offer at La Manga Cub which includes a great selection of restaurants, cafes and bars.
The terraces all have built in BBQs and the great views across the tennis centre to the Mar Menor inlet are really nice. We really appreciate the spacious lounge and dining area and two bathrooms are a must especially when we have six people in the group. I have now stayed in Los Olivos on many occasions and at all times of the year. Despite there being one hundred apartments it never seems to be too busy or over crowded, again I put this down to the great design and the fact that there are two large outdoor pools.
Give Los Olivos a try and I am sure you would not be disappointed with the standard of the accommodation.
