Thank you for arranging a great break for us recently.
We very much liked Los Molinos and the layout of the villas in the pretty gardens. The pool area was empty because it was a bit too chilly to swim but the beautiful blue skies and warm days made up for that.
We went mainly to play a few rounds of golf, dust off the cobwebs and to escape the poor weather at home.
We would recommend Los Molinos villas to everyone and for those with a young family as the pool must be a great place for the children to socialise in the summer months.
We only discovered Las Palmitas last year as its a small community of villas, about 12 in all.
They are very spacious inside and the quality of the interiors is very high which marble floors and bathrooms.
We liked the fact that there are so few villas and the pool is a great size for the amount of potential holidaymakers.
We were very close to the Bellaluz square which has a supermarket and lots of nice places to eat and drink. The supermarket delivers too so if when you first arrive you do a big shop then they will happily bring it to the villa for you. Staying in Las Palmitas means that you can still walk everywhere within La Manga Club. I would recommend you have a look if you fancy a change from your usual choice of accommodation.
I took my son and myself off to La Manga Club for a weeks break over the half term and had to write to say what a great time we had and how well everything was arranged.
We stayed in the Los Olivos apartments which look over the tennis courts at La Manga Club and we booked into the tennis academy for both of us. What a great experience the academy was with great coaching and what turned out to be a lot of fun. We then played with people we met for a few games in the afternoon. Court hire is not cheap but between four players it works out ok.
The location of our apartment was perfect as we could get to the tennis within minutes and walk everywhere we needed to get to. For us there would have been no point in hiring a car as it would have just sat outside the apartment for a week. Airport transfers were definitely the way to go.
We will go back for another tennis break sometime in the school holidays as I do not think there is anywhere better than this.
We always head into Los Belones for a few meals when we are staying at La Manga Club. Really pleased to see several new places open since our last visit.
Thought we would try Pablo Guardiolas, it is where the bodega used to be and so we popped in for a coffee in the morning to have a sneaky look at the menu which is typically Spanish. They have made it very attractive inside and we decided to book for 8 pm.
It was a Wednesday evening in January and it was good to see quite a few tables occupied. We had salad and soup to start followed by lamb and sea bass. All was very good indeed. My sea bass came with spinach but a few potatoes with it would have been good. The wine list is good and all reasonably priced. We decided to pass on the desserts but would certainly return.
We really liked La Colina apartments last year as there are only about 12 or so and therefore it seemed nice and quiet even though we were there in July.
The pool is lovely and more than adequate for the amount of guests staying in La Colina. We had a duplex apartment which was very spacious and set out over two floors. Just bear in mind that one of the bedrooms could be on a different level from the others if you have small children. Property had all you could want in terms of equipment and the small utility area was useful.
We liked being in a central spot within La Manga Club but not in a large development and we could get the children to all of their activities within a few minutes walk. Looking forward to returning this year and planning a half term trip.
We were very pleased with our villa in Los Naranjos at La Manga Club.
There are not that many villas so the two large pools are sufficient for everyone. The big bonus for us was that one of the pools is heated so we could use it during our February break.
Los Naranjos villas are also in the middle of La Manga Club so we could allow the children some freedom and we could go out at night to eat and not worry about driving. Lovely spacious villa and the design and layout of the villas both inside and outside work really well.
They are a great choice especially if you are planning to go to La Manga Club out of the main summer period so you make good use of the heated pool.
When we decided on hiring a villa with its own private swimming pool we realised that options are limited if there are only the two of you and you do not have a large budget but we then discovered the Las Higueras villas at La Manga Club. They are a great choice if you would like your privacy and as they sleep four people they are very spacious with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The villa has a small private garden and the location is excellent as you can walk everywhere. The lounge area overlooks the pool and with a well equipped kitchen it felt very much like home.
We had a great time playing golf on all three of the fantastic courses and were delighted to see how well maintained they are. We did not pre-book tee times as we were happy to make up a four ball where there was a slot. We hired clubs from the clubhouse and although quite expensive it made life easier than transporting them from home and paying the airline costs.
Came back wanting to return again in the not too distance future.
Having stayed in this particular twice before I can highly recommend it as good value for money when you consider other large villas at La Manga Club. It is in a great location within the Las Brisas villas and is very large and spacious in every area and has a good homely feel about it. The pool is a great size for a large group or 2 or 3 small families sharing and a real plus was that we did not have to take pool towels with us for this villa which was a huge help with the mean luggage allowance we got from the airline.
The people who look after the villa at La Manga Club are meticulous and we have found it be to be spotlessly clean on arrival on both occasions. You can walk to all of the amenities and after we did our initial large shop we used the Bellaluz supermarket mostly as it was a little closer.
The tennis centre is a 10 minute walk away which was useful as the children were playing tennis each morning and we hired a tennis court some of the afternoons for an hour. They have taken part in the tennis school now on both visits and they absolutely love it. The coaches make it fun and it is an excellent way for them to make friends and to learn the game. Naturally they can not wait to go back.
We stayed in Bellaluz in the summer and definitely enjoyed the buzz of the Bellaluz village square which has several restaurants, cafes and a bar which shows all the popular sporting events. Our apartment overlooked the square and we were not bothered at all by any noise as we were also out late into the evenings. I would say that if you have young children it is probably best to opt for an apartment off of the square. There are many small blocks which surround it so plenty of choice.
Our apartment was very comfortable and air conditioned and we had 2 bathrooms which was a plus as there were 6 of us. The supermarket was just on our doorstep and we could sit outside on our terrace watching the world go by. I was very happy to let the children have a little freedom around the village once they became familiar with their surroundings.
Bellaluz has a great swimming pool which has a poolside bar during the summer months. We have explored all of La Manga Club but are very happy with Bellaluz having rebooked Bellaluz again for this summer. We look forward to returning and are counting the days.
The windmills of Los Molinos give the white washed villas a really nice feel and we enjoyed our time around the large pool which also has a kiddies pool and snack bar, the only one of its kind apparently at La Manga Club. The villas are spread out amongst the pretty gardens and it does not matter too much where you are as the pool is walkable within minutes. Some villas have a number of steps to access them and some are more on the flat.
The villas are of a good size and have two bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of which is ensuite. The terrace off of the lounge has a built in BBQ which we used most days.
I have to say that the spa building is quite wonderful, with super facilities and quite stunning views out across La Manga Club. The treatments are quite expensive but a massage or facial will also allow you to use all the facilities, gym and pool. Make sure you take a look and treat yourself during your stay.
