We chose to stay in a villa with a private pool in conjunction with our tennis break. It was special occasion and treat for our husbands so we thought we would push the boat out and spoil ourselves.
The tennis lessons were really good and a lot of fun. The coaches worked us hard but we learnt a lot and have improved our game.
The villa was in a great location within La Manga Club and as described we could walk from the villa in Monte Claro to the tennis centre within 5 minutes. There were 4 spacious bedrooms and 3 bathrooms so plenty of room for everyone. It meant that after our morning tennis we could return to the villa for lunch, relax in the afternoon around the pool and then we either used the BBQ on the terrace or simply set off again and walked to a nearby restaurant. No driving anywhere for any of us.
La Manga Club has so many places to eat and the Monte Claro villa is very close and within walking distance to the majority of them. Because it is in a residential road it still remains quiet and unaffected by any of them.
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would recommend it to others without hesitation.
Enjoyed our recent break at La Manga Club and in particular our villa in Monte Claro. Everything had been freshly painted, the villa was very clean and well presented and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to self cater.
The Monte Claro individual villas are in a residential road just opposite the commercial centre called Las Sabinas so very close to everything you might need.
We loved the location which meant we could get to all of the shops and sports facilities within minutes and yet laying around the pool it was quiet and relaxed and totally un-overlooked.
Thank you for a great holiday and we will definitely return.
We just spent a great Easter week at La Manga Club at our usual favourite, Los Olivos. We have used the indoor pool during other visits but it was a real bonus this trip.
The weather was a little disappointing with low temperatures for the time of year and rain from time to time. We were fine though because we could take the children up to the indoor pool for a few hours.
Without this they would have been upset they couldn't swim so Los Olivos proved to the best choice yet again.
It was great to get away this Easter and despite the chilly weather we still managed to enjoy ourselves.
The Los Altos villas are in such a great spot that we were able to walk everywhere. La Manga Club is getting ready for a new season now with all the restaurants open and offering new menus.
Was a bit windy on the golf course but that did not stop us from enjoying a relaxing break.
We have tried the new sushi bar in Los Belones and had a really enjoyable evening.
We often venture off of La Manga Club just for a change of scene and like to try anything that has opened in Los Belones since our last visit. We did try to eat there one evening but when we arrived it was closed so do check their opening days and times.
We thought we would try and get there again and were pleased we did. The food was very good indeed and reasonably priced so we are glad we persevered and would certainly return again.
We always make a trip to Via Romana in Los Belones when we stay at La Manga Club. The fresh pasta and pizza is fantastic and the specials board always has something to tempt us.
On our last trip I noticed several people around me enjoying a piece of tenderloin and when our friends who live local in Cartagena joined us they also ordered it recommending it as the best steak they had ever had. What could we do but try it and it did not disappoint.
My husband who is more of a steak lover than me said it was delicious probably only second to steak he had on a cruise ship once a while ago. So if you think Via Romana can only come up trumps with your Italian favourites think again and give the tenderloin a try.
Whenever we visit La Manga Club we always head off to the Sunday market at Cabo de Palos and then after for a Sunday lunch along the harbour.
It is always warm and sunny and there is nothing nicer than sitting outside waiting for our Paella mixta to appear. Our last visit was to the Miramar restaurant which is on the corner of the harbour and has been established since the 1970's. Cabo de Palos harbour was buzzing as there was a local sailing event taking place involving the local children.
Our food was excellent as usual with delicious garlic prawns to start followed by our paella. The staff at the Miramar are very attentive and we could not fault the service. Please give it a try when you are next at La Manga Club, a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
It was a pleasure to return to Casa Lee in Los Belones, the long established Chinese restaurant.
It was along time since we had first visited and then discovered it has moved to the new Pyramid building as you enter Los Belones itself, opposite where the Bodega used to be.
We usually go to The Run but thought we should revisit Casa Lee for a change. The food was excellent, very fresh and tasty and the staff very welcoming and attentive. We would certainly visit again when we are next at La Manga Club and wish them well in their new home.
The Pyramid square is now full once again with restaurants, great to see them all occupied again.
We have been to Los Olivos before but not had the experience of a penthouse apartment. So for a change we decided to book one as I really wanted some sunshine and had been told that with the second rear terrace we would have sun all day long.
That was absolutely true and as I intended to spend most of my time on a sun lounger it was a real bonus. Apart from venturing to the indoor pool and my favourite restaurants I did not leave my terrace. It was good to see some new places to eat at La Manga Club and some in the nearby village, Los Belones.
It was a great short break and we just enjoyed the luxury of our Los Olivos apartment, blue skies and good food, can not really ask for more.
I really love the very typical rustic style of villas that you can find at La Manga Club and I prefer Los Altos over the others available as they are in such a good spot within La Manga Club and they have some of the best views. Alto means high in Spanish and so being high up you can not beat the fabulous views you get from the terraces.
The pretty white wash walls, elevated position and good design make them cool for those very hot months. Of course they are air conditioned too but very often I prefer to go without as I find it a little noisy. I have just booked to return later in the year and am really looking forward to returning to Los Altos for my holiday at La Manga Club.
