We were very happy with our choice of apartment this year. We chose a 2 bedroom Las Palmeras apartment which sits behind the large development of Hacienda del Golf. We had 2 bathrooms and with only about 30 apartments of only 2 storeys high we really liked the fact that Las Palmeras did not feel too busy around the pool or amongst the villas themselves. Being behind Hacienda also meant that we were a way back from the main road which we liked.
Very well kitted out the Las Palmeras apartment had everything we needed and was in good order throughout. The people we dealt with on site were great and when we needed their help with sorting out a broken kettle they were there replacing it within a couple of hours.
Within a few minutes you can walk to the tennis centre and lots of the shops, restaurants and cafes. My children love Uncle Sams, the American style diner, I suppose the thought of not having a burger for 2 weeks is a bit too much for them to cope with so we did go there a couple of times. Quite a fun place and the food is what you would expect with some good ribs and steak. If you are looking for a really super restaurant for a special treat then do try the Amapola. Apparently the chef is new and the menu is constantly changing so if you can arrange a babysitter then worth a visit.
We chose Las Palmeras apartments at La Manga Club because the photos we saw of the pool and the apartment block looked very nice. We also did not want too many apartments so we hoped the pool area would not be too busy and it turned out to be a really good choice.
The apartments are in the middle of La Manga Club which is large if you have not been before, but we could walk everywhere. We did hire a car and it was useful to have when we went to the supermarket and back and forth to the airport but we could walk to lots of places to eat, the tennis courts and golf clubhouse.
The apartments are a good size inside and have two bathrooms and a good size terrace. The pool is within a stones throw of the apartment and we spent lovely days around it in the glorious sunshine. Highly recommended.
We had planned to go to La Manga Club for a few years as we have a couple of keen golfers in the family. We arranged flights on Easyjet from Southend to Alicante and hired a car from the airport. The drive from Alicante to La Manga was very straightforward and the roads were excellent. We booked everything online which was a first for us and the accommodation was everything we needed. On arrival we registered and collected the keys, the staff were very helpful and could not do enough for us. The Las Palmeras apartment was very clean, spacious and included all mod cons. The private patio terrace was great. We usually stay in hotels when we go on holiday, this was a big change for us and was probably the most relaxing break we have ever had. There was a choice of places to have breakfast each day and it was great to have the freedom to have meals when we wanted to and even enjoy a BBQ on our own terrace. We hired bikes from the activity centre and played a few rounds of golf on the excellent courses on the resort. We will defo return and would stay in the same apartment. Both of our children enjoyed it and we would want to book again for next year.
