We spent our holiday sharing with our close friends in a four bedroom El Rancho villa at La Manga Club. We have children of the same ages who get on well and to save a little on cost we decided to rent a larger villa rather than two small ones.
It worked really well as there was plenty of space and enough bathrooms that we could manage fine. The main dining area and seating inside was fine for breakfast and we did spend a lot of time using the outside dining area and terrace as we used the built in BBQ a lot. The supermarkets sell some great BBQ packs.
We lost the men to the golf courses on a couple of days and headed off on others to the local Mar Menor beach as its great for paddling and getting out the buckets and spades. Lots of places there to grab coffee or lunch. Most of the time we stayed around the pool that was the nearest to our villa although you can use any that are part of El Rancho.
We have rebooked again this year and secured our 5% discount, counting the days.
Our friends suggested we go on holiday together and share a villa, first time we had thought about it but made good economic sense.
They had been to La Manga Club before and stayed in a Bellaluz apartment through La Manga Holidays. They found a four bedroom villa in the El Rancho community that they advertised which suited us perfectly and we had a really great holiday.
We would recommend El Rancho villas as they are in the lovely gardens and as there are lots of pools to share no villa is that far from a pool. The kids thoroughly enjoyed being together and we plan to arrange a trip next year. We will be in touch.

We went to La Manga Club earlier in the year and have only just got around to submitting a review. We travelled in March which was out of season for the resort and whilst it was very quiet it made for a truly relaxing holiday and it felt like with had a private swimming pool as no one else was around.
There are about 100 El Rancho villas built around good sized, but unheated pools. Each pool is shared by about 10 villas of different sizes and each of the pools has a small childrens paddling pool alongside.
We flew into Alicante Airport and picked up a car from the airport and made the straightforward journey of about an hour to La Manga Club. We arrived early and the villa was ready upon our arrival and it was a nice touch to have a grocery pack in the villa upon our arrival.
The villa itself was very pleasant and had a Spanish rustic fell to it and we did feel like we were actually staying in an upmarket Spanish community. There is plenty of space between the villas and they are have nice landscaped gardens. We were allocated a 3 bedroom El Rancho villa but had only booked a 2 bedroom villa, but it was nice to have the extra living space and facilities. The villa had 2 private terraces and one included a BBQ and outside seating area, which was a lovely way to spend an evening with a bottle of wine.
The villa was very well equipped and had all equipment and utensils required to dine in and prepare lunches and dinners. We did arrange to have a mid stay clean whilst we were there and the management company were very pleasant to deal with and were very helpful in recommending a couple of good restaurants in the local town of Los Belones and Cabo de Palos.
We did manage to play a couple of rounds of golf on the West and North golf courses at La Manga. However the green fees a little expensive, but the courses are of a very high standard and are both memorable courses to play. We could not play the South golf course as a handicap certificate is required.
We did wander off the Club a few times and found some lovely little restaurants on La Manga strip including Parador and Gregorys an Argentinian meat restaurant. We also found Via Romana in Los Belones, which was recommended, a well priced Italian restaurant. I think that due the high competition in the area the standard of the restaurants has to be very high for these to survive.
La Manga Club itself is very large and almost like a small town, with many restaurants, bars, shops and a supermarket. A car is very useful if you plan to go off the resort, although there is a taxi service available.
All in all a very good and relaxing break. It would be interesting to see the contrast in the height of the summer, when we understand that La Manga Club is much busier. We would definitely return again in the future.

Great villa with large private terrace and BBQ as we did not eat out every night it was a nice place to sit and relax in the evening. We stayed for 7 nights and I had been to La Manga many times before on golfing breaks, but is was the first time we had taken a family holiday at the Club. The whole family loved it as there was something for everyone to do. Next time we go in the summer we will probably stay for 2 weeks to really take in everything that La Manga Club has to offer. The position of the villa is great, close to the pool and easy to walk out to other areas. We look forward to coming back again.
The El Rancho villa we selected was very well appointed and the welcome grocery pack awaiting our arrival was an unexpected surprise. The final holiday confirmation we received was very useful and all communication with La Manga Holidays were very efficient. We would recommend that visitors hire a car, probably from the airport and explore outside the club for good priced restaurants and to get the local flavor and culture. Overall La Manga Club is a great place to unwind and the terrace at El Rancho is the place to enjoy a bottle of San Miguel or a glass of Rioja. La Manga Club is very well maintained with excellent facilities and security on an off the Club. My husband and I would definitely return to El Rancho and would request the same villa again.
With so much choice of accommodation at La Manga we were a little unsure which one to choose. With a young family it was important that we had a good pool that included a childrens splash pool. We found El rancho suited our need perfectly, with a choice of pools and childrens pools to choose from on certain days it was so quite we had the pool to ourselves. The garden area gave the children a chance to play and we made good use of the BBQ - we had a great time.
