On the recommendation of the agent we decided to opt for a 4 bedroom property in the El Coto del Golf development at La Manga Club.
A townhouse was not a problem as the living space was all on the lower level and all the bedrooms on the upper levels. You can rent a stairgate if you need one as no one wants to worry about a toddler trying out the stairs time after time. Thought the stairgate and cot I hired were quite expensive but if you need these items there is not much you can do, they have you over a barrel. El Coto del Golf is a nice development of townhouses, villas and apartments but the townhouses have a swimming pool just the use of the townhouse residents so we did not find it too busy.
The views of the North golf course are great and overall you get a feeling of peace and quiet. You will need to hire a car though if you choose El Coto del Golf as none of the facilities are that close. Being off of the main road into the club walking into the main areas is an option but for adults only, you certainly would not want to take children along this route. Once we had done a large shop at the local supermarket we were quite happy to relax within the development and only used our car when we ventured out to the local beaches. Would definitely return.
