I took my son and myself off to La Manga Club for a weeks break over the half term and had to write to say what a great time we had and how well everything was arranged.
We stayed in the Los Olivos apartments which look over the tennis courts at La Manga Club and we booked into the tennis academy for both of us. What a great experience the academy was with great coaching and what turned out to be a lot of fun. We then played with people we met for a few games in the afternoon. Court hire is not cheap but between four players it works out ok.
The location of our apartment was perfect as we could get to the tennis within minutes and walk everywhere we needed to get to. For us there would have been no point in hiring a car as it would have just sat outside the apartment for a week. Airport transfers were definitely the way to go.
We will go back for another tennis break sometime in the school holidays as I do not think there is anywhere better than this.
We always enjoy our stay in the Los Olivos apartments mainly because we really love the location and the standard of the apartments themselves.
I like a break where I do not have to drive if at all possible and we can walk everywhere if we stay in Los Olivos. I arrange the odd taxi if we want to go off of the resort and the taxi company is a 5 minute walk away from the apartments so even that's convenient.
Both two and three bedroom apartments are very spacious and both have two bathrooms. The terraces are also large with built in BBQ's in all of them.
I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone and look forward to our next trip.
We were pleased that we chose this property because it is on a really good size plot on La Manga Club and yet is still in the main road of villas in the centre of everything. Sometimes the larger ones are on the outskirts. It had everything we wanted and was comfortable, clean, and basically well looked after by the company at La Manga Club who manage it. You could not describe it as luxurious but a good home from home.
We were able to spread ourselves out and had three ensuite bathrooms which proved very useful with the mix in our party. The pool was lovely, large and private. Because of where it was we could walk to all of the shops and supermarket and we did not really use the car we had hired. It sat a lot of the time in the villa driveway. You should consider how much time you will want to drive anywhere or off site in the surrounding areas off of La Manga Club as it might be better to just get cabs to and from the airport. I suppose it also depends on how long your stay is. I have been told though that if you are flying into Alicante airport it is cheaper to hire a car and hardly use it rather than get taxis as it is just does not make economic sense. The journey is over an hour each way so the taxi fare is quite a lot. Taxis from Murcia airport could work and save a little money.
We tried the Indian restaurant, Dharma, for the first time and had a good meal. Food was authentic but best of all were the views from the venue right out across La Manga Club, just wonderful! Do give it a try next time you are there.

I had heard about La Manga Club from friends over the years so when we decided to go with the children and invite our parents it seemed like a good choice with something for everyone. We booked a 4 bedroom villa in the Los Altos community and a people carrier for the duration of our stay mainly because my dad cannot walk too far. If you are all fit and mobile a car is handy but not essential as Los Altos is in a great spot, pretty much walkable to everywhere.
It was the first time we had all been away together so it was important that we had space/privacy for the grandparents and we found that the villa had 4 good size bedrooms with ample living space so we could eat together comfortably. We ate out a lot of the time and often went into the nearby villa of Los Belones as we had the car, it is a little cheaper than La Manga Club itself, and there is great Italian called Via Romana. We liked to wander through the still very Spanish village and do a little shopping, stopping for coffee and pastries at the small bakery on the village square.
The nearby village of Cabo de Palos was also a favourite with us on the two Sundays we were there. There is a super local market selling great fruit and vegetables and everything else you can think of which starts early on Sunday morning, after which if you head off to the harbour you will find the best paella you can eat, al fresco. Really a lovely day and then back for a siesta of course.
We drove to the La Manga Club beach on a couple of occasions but the children preferred the local beaches on the Mar Menor because they are more sandy and low tides make them great for paddling. The fish restaurant is excellent on the Club beach but was a treat away from the children as the menu is not really geared up for them and with babysitters in tow we made the most of it.
Mainly we stayed around our pool as we had one very near the villa. We could have used one of the three available within our Los Altos community but we generally stayed around the one nearest to the villa so we could get to the cold drinks and ice-creams.
We had an excellent holiday with many memories we will keep forever. A great place for families to get together and spend precious time.
We had a great time at La Manga Club. We stayed in a 3 bedroom Los Olivos apartment which suited our party perfectly. 2 adults and 2 older children. The views from the apartment were stunning and the large terrace makes the setting great.
The apartment was close to the tennis centre and both our children took part in the tennis academy and whilst they are not of a great standard, they thoroughly enjoyed the training and feel they are better players. They also made a few friends through the tennis club, which made life a little easier for my wife and I, as we did not have to worry that they were occupied.
We spent one week at the Club and ate out about 4 times and it was nice to have such a good choice of restaurants all within walking distance. The restaurants were of a good standard and reasonably proced. We did not have a car, so it was very handy to be in close proximity to the facilities of the Club.
The apartment was very well equipped and had everything needed for a self-catering break. The furnishings were all of a high quality and Los Olivos has both indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
We would certainly recommend La Manga Club and the Los Olivos apartments for a family break. There is plenty to do for all ages and is a relaxing environment if you just want to chill.
We flew into Alicante airport and would fly into Murcia airport next time as the cost of the taxi transfer from Alicante was quite expensive.

We chose an apartment in Bellaluz because we wanted to be in a central area of La Manga Club with lots of restaurants and a supermarket and shops nearby. We did not want to hire a car and managed to get a taxi from the airport so we had a drive free week in the sun.
Our 3 bedroom apartment had 2 bathrooms which with 6 of us I wanted as a must. We were quite close to the main square which suited my 3 teenagers. I would mention that if you have young children you may be better staying a little way away from the main square as it can get a little noisy late into the evenings.
We ate out quite a bit and like the relaxed atmosphere of Casa Victors restaurant. Its been there for years apparently and offers a good mix of food, with something to suit the fussy teenagers.
We have been to La Manga Club about 5 times and always stay at Los Naranjos, the location is just so convenient for the shops and tennis centre. We usually do not hire a car so the area we stay in is important to us. The heated pool is quite nice. The villa was very nicely furnished and would ceratinly like to stay in this one again. many thanks for your help in sorting out our arrangements.
We have just visited La Manga Los Olivos for a last minute five day break with our 20 year old daughter & 16 year old son, we just wanted to chill out & my husband & son wanted to play a bit of golf . Being a little unsure i spoke to one of the guys at La Manga holidays and explained that we just wanted to relax preferably without a car etc, we took his advice & everything was just perfect the apartment, restaurant's, bars, golf & especially the weather can't wait to go back!!
Just a short note to let you know we all had a great time at the La Manga Club. The location was ideal and the villa met all our needs, despite the steps up to the door! On site staff where very helpful, helping us out with taxis and a problem with the pool. Thanks also to you for all you assistance beforehand.
Really enjoyed our holiday and the whole process from the flight, taxi transfer to the club and the services on the Club were first class. We did find some of the on site restaurants a little pricey, but the restaurants in Los Belones were very good. We especially enjoyed Via Romana restaurant and ended up having two meals here. The villa was in a great location on the club and would certainly have another holiday at La Manga Club.
