We just spent a great Easter week at La Manga Club at our usual favourite, Los Olivos. We have used the indoor pool during other visits but it was a real bonus this trip.
The weather was a little disappointing with low temperatures for the time of year and rain from time to time. We were fine though because we could take the children up to the indoor pool for a few hours.
Without this they would have been upset they couldn't swim so Los Olivos proved to the best choice yet again.
I took my son and myself off to La Manga Club for a weeks break over the half term and had to write to say what a great time we had and how well everything was arranged.
We stayed in the Los Olivos apartments which look over the tennis courts at La Manga Club and we booked into the tennis academy for both of us. What a great experience the academy was with great coaching and what turned out to be a lot of fun. We then played with people we met for a few games in the afternoon. Court hire is not cheap but between four players it works out ok.
The location of our apartment was perfect as we could get to the tennis within minutes and walk everywhere we needed to get to. For us there would have been no point in hiring a car as it would have just sat outside the apartment for a week. Airport transfers were definitely the way to go.
We will go back for another tennis break sometime in the school holidays as I do not think there is anywhere better than this.
Having read so much about the Los Olivos properties at La Manga Club I was tempted to book one for a change and as it was a special birthday to treat myself to a top floor penthouse apartment.
I was really pleased when I arrived to discover that it was as spacious as described and the views fabulous, as promised. You get great views from all of the apartments but I did enjoy being on the top floor because we had two terraces, front and back, so you will get the sun all day long.
The tennis courts are just a stones throw away and you can walk to either of the supermarkets with ease.
Only negative I would say is that they are not suitable for those with young children. The stairs up to the apartment and the stairs inside to the second terrace would not be good to have to contend with. Definitely opt for a ground or middle floor if you have little ones.
Having been to La Manga Club many times I have tried the various accommodation available. There is something for everyone's budget at La Manga Club but like anything in this life you get what you pay for. I can only say that for me I would stretch my budget a little and stay in the Los Olivos apartments which in my opinion are in the best spot within La Manga Club and are just so spacious in all aspects. Outside of the main summer weeks I have found some bargains to be had for short breaks and good rates for a seven night stay.
I go regularly for tennis coaching, sometimes on my own and other times with a group of friends and we have now come to the conclusion that our preference will be Los Olivos. We like the location as it is directly opposite the tennis centre and you can see the courts from the lovely terraces that the Los Olivos apartments have. We also make very good use of the indoor heated pool. There are two other pools at Los OlIvos but like the majority of pools at La Manga Club they are not heated so the indoor heated pool and Jacuzzi are great to have.
We are able to walk to all of the facilities on offer at La Manga Cub which includes a great selection of restaurants, cafes and bars.
The terraces all have built in BBQs and the great views across the tennis centre to the Mar Menor inlet are really nice. We really appreciate the spacious lounge and dining area and two bathrooms are a must especially when we have six people in the group. I have now stayed in Los Olivos on many occasions and at all times of the year. Despite there being one hundred apartments it never seems to be too busy or over crowded, again I put this down to the great design and the fact that there are two large outdoor pools.
Give Los Olivos a try and I am sure you would not be disappointed with the standard of the accommodation.
I have stayed in several communities at La Manga Club and thought I would try Hacienda del Golf as it is in such a good central spot within the Club. It did not disappoint as the shops and restaurants are close by and my 2 bedroom property was in good order. My only issue was that one bedroom was on the first floor and the second bedroom on the lower floor. My children are young and I would have preferred to have slept on the same level as them. Fine if you have older children.
I will probably go back to my favourite apartments, Los Olivos which are also in the centre, for the next few years while the children are young as they are all on one level inside.
We all had a great time at the La Manga Club. Just a short note to let you know we all had a great time at the La Manga Club. The location was ideal and the villa met all our needs, despite the steps up to the door! On site staff where very helpful, helping us out with taxis and a problem with the pool. Thanks also to you for all you assistance beforehand.
Great tennis holiday
My husband and I spent a magical time in La Manga and will never forget the experience. Everything was perfect from the heart shaped chocolates to the fantastic band on Valentines evening. We would recommend this to everyone. Kind Regards
My wife and I visited La Manga Club (for the first time) from the 8th - 15th September. The club had been very highly praised by a number of friends and so we thought to give it a chance. Prior to the 8th we were informed that the villa we had booked had a problem and would we accept a 3 bedroomed apartment at Los Olivos instead. We agreed and from the time we drove through the Club security gate to the time we left on the 15th, we had a really great time. The apartment was smart, large and very clean with far ranging views over the golf courses towards the Mar Menor and Los Olivos is just great as a location. The communal pool is large and 2 metres deep at one end. Loads of empty sun beds and rules that would NOT SUIT hen or stag parties, great and it gets better. In fact, any bad behavior is not tolerated and that apparently includes bad language. We loved it and will definitely be back. I am not a particular fan of authority and its not apparent, but it's there when/if required and so you just relax - great.
The apartment we had was 2 beds and 2 baths.
It was a superb apartment in an excellent position for the tennis club.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and had every assistance from the management company.
I would recommend Los Olivos, even though it was expensive, it was worth the money.
