I donít know about you, but too often when I holiday in France or Spain, I find myself yearning for a curry at some point. Thankfully, at La Manga Club, this yearning doesnít need to turn out into an obsession, followed by an incredibly long drive to track down a curry that ends up a disappointment (like it has in so many other places)! At La Manga, the Dharma Restaurant satisfies all those curry yearnings and a whole lot more. The Dharma Restaurant, which is situated on the top floor of the resortís luxury spa at Las Lomas Village provides not only superb food, but also boasts a bar and a terrace with views to die for, which can be enjoyed from the stunningly stylish comfy furniture.

The Dharma Restaurant offers a real Indian delight when it comes to food. With its Wednesday to Sunday evening opening (correct at the time of writing), you can choose from an extensive a la carte menu or one of their three taster menus that are normally on offer. Vegetarians and dessert-lovers are particularly well catered for at the Dharma. Whatís more, the restaurant offers specials nights from time to time, as well as entertainment nights, so do keep a lookout for special events at the Dharma during your stay at La Manga Club.

Indian cuisine dates back over 5000 years and owes its diversity to the many religions and cultures that make up the country. The term Indian food is so generic that to an Indian, it seems completely ridiculous. There are four key styles of cooking in India: northern, southern, eastern and western. The most noticeable contrasts are between the northern and the southern cuisines. North Indian food tends to be more basic, thanks to the agricultural emphasis on the population, whereas the Southern dishes are more exotic and feature rice quite heavily.

One of the most appealing and interesting elements on any Indian restaurant menu is the variety and extensive list of appetisers and snacks that are pretty much unique to this part of the world. Dishes such as Seekh Kebab, Onion Bhaji, Tandoori Murgh Salad, Raita and Pappadums are just some of the deliciously mouthwatering starters that await you at La Manga Club Dharma Restaurant. When it comes to main courses, thereís all the usual favourites like Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Roganjosh, Murgh Kesari Korma and of course plain or garlic nan bread to boot, but there are some unusual options too. Kadhai Jheenga for example, which is a stir-fried shrimp dish, complimented with bell peppers and kadhai sauce before being finished with coriander. Letís just say that the La Manga Club Dharma Restaurant is a veritable symphony of flavour, aroma and taste.

Add to all of this, the comfort of the restaurant itself, the fact that itís right on your doorstep, no matter whether youíve chosen to lodge at the Hotel Principe Felipe or one of the self catering options. In fact, if youíre feeling a bit lazy, thereís even a courtesy bus that picks up resort residents at various locations to take you there and back in comfort. So, if youíre one of those people that get that curry yearning, thereís absolutely no doubt that youíll be well satisfied at La Manga Club!
